Abdullah bin Zayed Receives Phone Call from Kuwaiti Foreign Minister

ABU DHABI — His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.

During the call, the two top diplomats discussed the current situation in the region and ways to strengthen ongoing efforts to achieve regional security and stability.

Focus on Regional Security

The conversation comes amid a period of heightened tension across the Gulf, during which Kuwait, along with other regional states, has been targeted by Iranian missile and drone attacks tied to the broader US-Iran conflict. Kuwait's air defences have intercepted a series of hostile aerial threats over recent days, with debris from interceptions causing limited damage in some areas.

The UAE and Kuwait, both members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, have maintained close and frequent coordination throughout the crisis. In previous calls between the two foreign ministers, Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE's full solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures the country takes to safeguard its security and stability, stressing that Kuwait's security is an integral part of the security of the UAE and the wider GCC.

Continued Bilateral Coordination

The latest call reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries and their leaderships, and their shared commitment to close consultation on regional developments. The two foreign ministers have spoken regularly in recent months, coordinating positions on Gulf security, condemning attacks targeting the region, and reviewing efforts to de-escalate tensions and preserve stability.
