Acer Expands Aspire AI Copilot+ PC Portfolio with New AI-Powered Laptops and All-in-One Desktops

Acer has quietly been building out its AI PC lineup for the past year. This week, the company added four more devices to that stack — the Aspire X 16 AI, Aspire 18 AI, and two all-in-one desktops under the Aspire C AI series.

All four are certified Copilot+ PCs, which means they meet Microsoft's minimum threshold for on-device AI compute — at least 40 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) from the NPU. The new Acer devices go well beyond that.

The Premium Play: Aspire X 16 AI

At the top of the range sits the Aspire X 16 AI — a thin-and-light aimed at professionals who actually move around. At 1.6kg and 15.9mm thin, it's not trying to win design awards, but it's not embarrassing either.

The headline spec is the Intel Core Ultra X9 processor, which Acer claims delivers up to 180 platform TOPS. Paired with a 16-inch 3K OLED panel running at 120Hz with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, it's clearly targeting content creators and designers who want color accuracy without carrying a portable monitor.

Battery life is rated at 24 hours — that's the kind of number that usually falls apart in real-world use, but even at 60-70% of that claim, it's a full workday without hunting for a socket. Dual Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4 round out the connectivity.

The Big-Screen Option: Aspire 18 AI

The Aspire 18 AI is a different kind of machine. An 18-inch screen on a laptop says one thing clearly: this doesn't leave the desk much. Acer is targeting students, home users, and content consumers — people who want a desktop-like experience without actually buying a desktop.

It runs on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips with up to 100 platform TOPS, which is lower than the X 16 AI but still well above Copilot+ requirements. The display goes up to 165Hz — overkill for most productivity tasks, but students who game between study sessions will appreciate it.

One detail that stands out: Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, which is faster than the Wi-Fi 6E on the premium X 16 AI. Make of that what you will. The eco-friendly packaging with 100% recyclable materials is a talking point, though it doesn't affect day-to-day use.

The Desktops: Aspire C27 AI and C24 AI

The two Aspire C all-in-one desktops take the same AI-first approach but in a format that most families and small offices actually prefer: one cable, one unit, no tower under the desk.

Available in 27-inch and 23.8-inch screen sizes, buyers can choose between AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series or Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. The AMD variant comes with Radeon 880M integrated graphics — a notable step up for users doing light video editing or casual gaming.

Both desktops feature a 5MP IR webcam with facial recognition, display refresh rates up to 144Hz, optional touchscreen support, and Acer's new ErgoStand — which allows height and tilt adjustment without a separate arm mount. For shared family computers or classroom setups, that's a practical inclusion.

The AI Software Layer

Hardware specs only tell part of the story. Acer has loaded all four devices with its own AI software stack: AcerSense for device management and performance optimization, Click-to-Do for quick task shortcuts, and Acer Intelligence Space — a hub that brings together AI tools for writing, image editing, and productivity.
Whether these tools add genuine value or function as marketing checkboxes will depend on how well they perform in practice. Acer has not announced regional availability or pricing for GCC markets at the time of publication.

What it means for the market: The Copilot+ PC race is no longer about whether brands will offer AI-capable hardware — they all will. The differentiator now is how well the software layer justifies the NPU sitting inside. Acer's expansion into four simultaneous form factors suggests confidence in the category, but the real test comes when users outside the spec sheet start using these machines daily.
