On Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior in Bahrain said a warning siren had been sounded nationwide. Authorities have urged citizens and residents to stay calm and immediately go to shelter where they are safest.

The US military also said it had intercepted a number of Iranian missiles and drones launched across the Gulf region, according to AFP, as well as carried out self-defence attacks on Iran's Qeshm Island

The US military confirmed having conducted self-defense strikes against Qeshm Island, which lies in the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz.

Strategic Importance of Qeshm Island
Qeshm Island is situated in the Strait of Hormuz — the world's most important oil and gas shipping gateway.
Since tensions between the US, Israel and Iran flared after late February, traffic on the waterway has been heavily disrupted.
No US Casualties Reported
Centcom confirmed that:
The operations did not injure any US forces.
The incoming threats were successfully neutralised.
