Dubai confirms readiness of 40 air-conditioned rest areas for delivery bike riders ahead of summer

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that approximately 40 air-conditioned rest areas designated for riders of motorbikes as delivery drivers will be fully operational in preparation for the summer season. This move is a part of measures to improve road safety and mitigate the risks of heat stress among riders working across the emirate.


Key Highlights:

 

  • Air-conditioned rest areas 40 prepared in various locations of the city.

  • Yet they are popular in bigger delivery areas like Hessa Street, Al Khawaneej, Al Barsha, Al Satwa, Oud Metha and Arjan.

  • With air conditioned waiting areas, water dispensers, phone charging slots and Motorcycle parking.

  • Riders will be broken into groups of about 10, with each facility having its own.

 

"Road safety continues to be one of our utmost priorities, in alignment with Dubai's drive to stay a forerunner on road safety," said Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA's Licensing Agency. These locations were determined based on operational data and in coordination with delivery companies to meet high demand delivery areas.

When designed to ensure thermal insulation and protection from direct sunlight, such facilities provide a comfortable and safe environment for riders when the air temperature reaches its maximum in the summer.
