Dubai Isn’t Just Growing; It’s Leading the Global Millionaire Surge

Dubai is strengthening its position as one of the world’s most powerful wealth hubs, with the city recording one of the fastest increases in millionaire numbers globally.

According to the Henley & Partners World’s Wealthiest Cities Report 2025, Dubai was home to approximately 81,200 resident millionaires, including 237 centi-millionaires and 20 billionaires. The city’s millionaire population increased by 102% between 2014 and 2024, placing Dubai among the fastest-growing wealth centres worldwide.

The rapid rise has also pushed Dubai higher in the global wealth rankings. The emirate climbed from 21st to 18th among the world’s 50 wealthiest cities, making it the biggest climber in the ranking over the previous year.

A magnet for global wealth

Dubai’s appeal extends beyond its luxury lifestyle. The city has developed into an international business and investment centre, attracting entrepreneurs, investors and high-net-worth individuals from around the world.

The wider UAE has also emerged as a major destination for wealthy migrants. Henley & Partners projected that the country would attract a record 9,800 relocating millionaires in 2025, giving the UAE the largest expected net inflow of millionaires globally.

The trend is taking place against a broader global increase in personal wealth. UBS reported that nearly one million people worldwide became US-dollar millionaires in 2025, highlighting the continued expansion of the global millionaire population.

Dubai’s wealth story goes beyond millionaires

Dubai is also becoming increasingly attractive to ultra-high-net-worth individuals. The Henley report identified Dubai as one of the leading emerging centres for centi-millionaires — individuals with at least $100 million in investable wealth — and projects that the city’s centi-millionaire population could more than double over the next decade.

The city’s growing financial ecosystem, international connectivity, real estate market and business-friendly environment have all contributed to its rising appeal among wealthy individuals seeking a base in the region.

Dubai’s transformation is therefore about more than simply counting millionaires. Its rapidly expanding wealthy population reflects the emirate’s growing role in the global movement of capital, businesses and high-net-worth talent.

With wealth migration continuing to reshape the world’s leading financial centres, Dubai is increasingly positioning itself not just as a fast-growing city, but as a global destination for wealth creation, investment and entrepreneurship.
