Dubai RTA Completes Al Marabea’ Street Upgrade to Ease Al Quoz Traffic

Al Marabea Street upgrade

Drivers travelling through Al Quoz now have a smoother route after Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority completed a major road upgrade. The project increased road capacity by 30% and reduced peak-hour journey times by up to 30%. The improvements target one of Al Quoz’s key traffic corridors.

1.1-Kilometre Section Upgraded

The completed works cover a 1.1-kilometre section of Al Marabea’ Street. The upgraded stretch runs from the Al Khail Road exit to Al Asayel Street. RTA said the project addressed traffic bottlenecks and raised road capacity by 30%.

Peak-Hour Journey Times Improve

The authority said traffic flow has improved across the corridor. Peak-hour journey times have fallen by up to 30% following the upgrade.

The changes aim to make daily travel through busy parts of Al Quoz more efficient.

New Lane Cuts Vehicle Queues

RTA expanded an intersection by adding a new lane towards Street 16A. The new lane reduced congestion and vehicle queue lengths by 50% at the location. Modern street-lighting poles were also installed to improve visibility and road safety at night.

A Key Route Through Al Quoz

Al Marabea’ Street connects Al Khail Road with Al Asayel Street. The route serves nearby industrial, commercial and residential areas. It also supports traffic moving towards Al Quoz, Al Meydan, Business Bay and Downtown Dubai.

More Work Expected by August

RTA is continuing additional works along Al Marabea’ Street. The remaining work includes a new service road with a continuous pedestrian walkway. A new access point will also connect the Al Khail Road exit towards Al Marabea’ Street. RTA expects the remaining improvements to finish by the end of August 2026.

Part of Dubai’s Wider Road Upgrade Programme

The project supports Dubai’s wider programme of targeted traffic improvements. RTA continues to upgrade roads as the emirate responds to population growth and increasing traffic demand. The authority aims to improve road efficiency, connectivity and safety across Dubai.
