Dubai to unveil world’s first air-conditioned mall parking
Dubai is once again pushing the boundaries of futuristic development, with the upcoming Dubai Square Mall set to introduce a unique feature: fully air-conditioned parking.
The project is expected to offer shoppers a more comfortable experience, particularly during Dubai’s extremely hot summer months.
Dubai Square Mall to Have Air-Conditioned Parking
The parking facility at Dubai Square Mall will feature full interior design treatment and is currently under construction, according to Emaar founder Mohamed Ali Alabbar.
The air-conditioned facility is expected to transform the traditional mall parking experience by providing relief from Dubai’s intense heat.
During the summer, walking across large outdoor parking areas or returning to a car that has been parked under the sun can be uncomfortable. The new system could make arriving at and leaving the mall considerably more convenient for visitors.
Dubai Square Mall Project in Dubai Creek Harbour
Emaar Properties launched the Dubai Square project in Dubai Creek Harbour in May, combining residential and retail developments.
At the centre of the project will be Dubai Square Mall, which is expected to open in approximately three years.
The under-construction mall is planned to be three times the size of Downtown Dubai, with the overall project estimated to cost around Dh180 billion.
Once completed, Dubai Square is expected to become one of the region’s largest shopping, entertainment and lifestyle destinations.
Emaar’s Growing Mall Portfolio
Dubai Square Mall will join Emaar Properties’ portfolio of major shopping destinations across Dubai.
The developer is behind several well-known malls, including:
Dubai Mall
Dubai Hills Mall
Dubai Marina Mall
Souk Al Bahar
The Ranches Souk
The Dubai Mall remains Emaar’s flagship shopping destination, featuring more than 1,300 stores and over 200 food outlets, along with attractions such as an ice rink, aquarium and KidZania.
Expansion plans are also underway to introduce 240 additional luxury outlets.
Meanwhile, Dubai Hills Mall has more than 650 shops, a hypermarket, cinema and four entertainment and leisure zones. Dubai Marina Mall features 140 stores and 21 dining outlets, while Souk Al Bahar offers an Arabesque-inspired shopping and dining experience near Downtown Dubai.
Electric Vehicle Facilities and Smart Technology
Dubai Square’s futuristic features will extend beyond its air-conditioned parking facilities.
According to Alabbar, the mall will include dedicated facilities to support the growing electric vehicle market, reinforcing its focus on modern and sustainable infrastructure.
The development is also planned as a drive-through destination, offering visitors greater convenience.
Artificial intelligence will also play a role, with the mall expected to use AI-powered solutions to provide shoppers with more convenient services and experiences.
Dubai Continues to Build World-First Attractions
Dubai Square’s air-conditioned parking is another addition to the emirate’s growing collection of projects described as world-first developments.
Another major project under construction is Dubai’s upcoming Gold Street, which is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The attraction is being developed as a unique destination where visitors will experience an environment designed to make them feel as though they are walking on gold.
Dubai, widely known as the “City of Gold”, is already a major global destination for gold shoppers and traders. The new Gold Street is expected to add another attraction highlighting the emirate’s long-standing connection with the precious metal.
Dubai Square Set to Redefine the Mall Experience
With air-conditioned parking, electric vehicle facilities, drive-through access and AI-powered services, Dubai Square Mall is being designed around convenience, technology and sustainability.
Once completed, the development is expected to further strengthen Dubai’s reputation for creating ambitious retail and lifestyle destinations that combine innovative technology with large-scale entertainment and shopping experiences.
