Dubai’s Museum of the Future Announces Temporary Closure for Major Overhaul

Dubai’s iconic Museum of the Future will temporarily close in mid September 2026 to undergo its largest upgrade since opening, according to multiple official announcements. The landmark institution is preparing a full transformation of its exhibitions ahead of a 2027 relaunch, coinciding with its fifth anniversary. 

Why the Museum Is Closing

The museum will replace every major exhibit with a new generation of immersive, interactive experiences inspired by ideas submitted by visitors from around the world. This marks the most extensive refresh since its launch in February 2022. 

Officials say the overhaul will introduce next generation experiences, updated narratives, and a refreshed identity for the venue. Current exhibitions will remain open until mid September 2026, giving visitors a final chance to explore the existing galleries. 

When It Will Reopen

The Museum of the Future is scheduled to reopen in the first quarter of 2027 with entirely new exhibitions and redesigned interactive zones. The relaunch will align with the museum’s fifth anniversary celebrations, marking a new chapter for one of Dubai’s most futuristic attractions.
