Eid Al Adha holidays: Emirates issues peak travel advisory
This comes as Dubai's flagship carrier Emirates has urged travellers flying during the Eid Al Adha holidays to arrive at least 3 hours ahead of flight departure due to an expected influx of travellers.
Emirates has forecast high passenger traffic from Dubai during the Eid break. Consider arriving in Dubai at least three hours ahead of your departure and being at the boarding gate 60 minutes before you are due to fly. The world's largest international carrier said: It might take longer than normal to pass through security and immigration and to get to your gate especially during peak travel times.
The also advised all UAE residents travelling from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to utilise the public transport and the Dubai Metro to avoid traffic congestion.
In 2026, private sector employees working in the UAE will benefit from a public paid holiday that is four days long due to Eid Al Adha. The holiday will cover from Tuesday, May 26 until Friday, May 29, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation said. Federal government employees will be provided a longer Eid holiday, between Monday (May 25) and Friday (May 29).
Companies' air transport arm Emirates had laid the groundwork to operate 137 destinations in 72 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, West Asia, Middle East / GCC states by May 6 as a ceasefire triggers an uptick for travel after lockdowns brought on by tough restrictions affecting the aviation sector.
