Etihad Airways Becomes First Airline to Accept Jaywan Payments

UAE travellers now have another way to pay for Etihad flights, thanks to the country’s national domestic card scheme.

Etihad Airways has become the first airline to accept Jaywan for flight bookings made directly online.

The new payment option is available across Etihad’s global route network.

Jaywan Now Available on Etihad Bookings

UAE-based customers can select Jaywan during checkout on Etihad’s website.

Eligible cardholders can complete their flight purchases through the airline’s online payment system.

Etihad said the integration aims to provide customers with a smooth and secure payment experience.

What Is Jaywan?

Jaywan is operated by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE.

The domestic card scheme is being introduced through banks and licensed financial institutions.

The initiative supports the UAE’s efforts to strengthen locally operated digital payment infrastructure.

Extra Benefits Planned for Jaywan Royal Cardholders

The payment launch also expands Etihad’s partnership with Al Etihad Payments.

Etihad Guest members holding Jaywan Royal cards are expected to receive additional travel benefits.

These benefits will include exclusive discounts on Comfort and Deluxe fares.

Priority privileges are also expected to form part of the package.

The airline said these benefits will be introduced soon.

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in October 2025.

The agreement outlined plans to provide tailored travel benefits for Jaywan Royal cardholders.
