A train journey from Fujairah Station towards the Hajar mountains has offered one of the clearest previews yet of how inter-emirate travel in the UAE could soon transform. As Etihad Rail prepares to launch its highly anticipated passenger services in phases during 2026, residents got a first look at the country’s modern rail experience.

The journey, which travelled from Fujairah Station towards Al Bithnah Bridge, highlighted the comfort, speed and convenience that passengers can expect once services officially begin.

A First Look at Fujairah Station

Fujairah Station is the first fully completed passenger station in the Etihad Rail network. The station features:

• Cream-and-grey modern interiors

• Wide glass panels

• Clear passenger signage

• Automated entry barriers

• Spacious waiting areas

The station spans approximately 51,900 square metres and is located near key landmarks including:

• Fujairah International Airport

• Sakamkam Fort

• Umbrella Beach

According to Adhraa Almansoori, Executive Director of Commercial at Etihad Rail, the stations have been designed to make rail travel accessible and comfortable for everyone.

“We are very conscious that for many residents, and many families, this will be their first experience of rail travel. That is why so much thought has gone into the station experience with clear signage, comfortable spaces, and staff who are there to help.”

No. Etihad Rail confirmed that passenger services will launch in carefully planned phases to ensure maximum safety and operational efficiency.

• Dubai to Fujairah: 69 minutes

• Abu Dhabi to Fujairah: 105 minutes

• Abu Dhabi to Dubai will take less than one hour

• Dubai to Fujairah will take just over one hour

• Abu Dhabi to Fujairah will take approximately one hour and 45 minutes
