Etihad Rail ticket prices: 50% off for kids, refund on cancellation

The UAE's first passenger train has officially captured the attention of residents, with more than 10,000 tickets sold ahead of its launch. As excitement continues to build, Etihad Rail has released its official passenger charter, outlining ticket prices, age-based discounts, cancellation policies, and ticket change rules.
The charter provides clear guidance for families, senior citizens, and regular commuters, making it easier for passengers to understand their travel options before booking.

Ticket Discounts for Children and Senior Citizens

Etihad Rail offers discounted fares for children and senior citizens, while standard ticket prices apply to adults between the ages of 18 and 59. As part of the launch promotion, adult tickets are currently available at 50% off.

Comfort Class: Starting from Dh55
Premium Class: Starting from Dh120

Age-Based Fare Benefits

Children under 17: Receive 50% off the standard ticket price.
Children under 14: Must travel with an accompanying adult.
Infants under 2 years: Travel free when seated on an adult's lap.
Separate seat for an infant: Requires the purchase of a child ticket.

Passengers aged 60 and above: Receive a 20% discount on the standard fare (valid ID may be required).

Ticket Cancellation and Refund Policy

Passengers who need to cancel their journey can do so through multiple channels, including the Etihad Rail app, the official website under "My Bookings," ticket vending machines at stations, or by contacting the customer service centre.

Refund eligibility depends on the type of ticket purchased.

Saver: Non-refundable.
Value: Non-refundable.
Flex: Full refund if cancelled more than 24 hours before departure.
Flex cancellations within 24 hours: Subject to a 30% cancellation fee.
No-shows: No refund available.

How to Change an Etihad Rail Ticket

Passengers wishing to modify their travel date or time can make changes using the Etihad Rail app, website, station ticket vending machines, or by contacting the customer support team.

However, passengers cannot change their travel route, including the departure or destination station, regardless of the fare type.

Ticket Change Rules

Saver: No changes allowed.
Value: Unlimited free date and time changes up to 72 hours before departure, subject to any fare difference. Additional changes incur a Dh20 fee, plus any fare difference.
Flex: Unlimited date and time changes are permitted before departure and up to 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time, subject to any fare difference.
Once a ticket modification is confirmed, a new ticket is issued, and the original ticket becomes invalid.
