BRASILIA, August 9, 2026 — Four people have been killed after a helicopter crashed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with three Colombian tourists from the same family among the victims.

Brazilian authorities said the helicopter went down on Saturday in Tijuca National Park, a mountainous forest area known for its dense vegetation.

Bodies Found on Difficult Mountain Slope

Firefighters responding to the crash located the charred bodies of the helicopter pilot and three women on a mountain slope that was difficult for emergency crews to access.
