Free public parking announced in Dubai on June 15 for Hijri New Year
Residents and visitors in Dubai can enjoy free public parking on Monday, June 15, 2026, in celebration of the Hijri New Year holiday. The announcement was made by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which confirmed that all public parking zones will be free of charge, except for multi-storey parking facilities. Regular parking fees will resume on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
To accommodate holiday travel, Dubai Metro services on both the Red and Green Lines will operate from 5:00 AM until midnight, while the Dubai Tram will run from 5:00 AM until 1:00 AM on June 15.

Changes to Bus and Marine Transport Services
The RTA has also announced temporary changes to public transport services during the holiday period. Bus Route E100, which normally operates between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Abu Dhabi, will be suspended from June 13 to June 15, 2026. Passengers travelling to Abu Dhabi are advised to use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station instead.
Residents are encouraged to check the S’hail app for updated bus schedules and travel information. Marine transport services will also operate on modified schedules, with updated timings available through RTA's official communication channels.

RTA Service Centres to Remain Closed
As part of the public holiday, all RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be closed on Monday, June 15. However, customers can still access services through smart kiosks located in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar, Al Kifaf, RTA Headquarters, and the Umm Ramool Customer Happiness Centre, which will continue operating 24/7.
Vehicle testing centres managed by service providers will also remain closed on the holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, June 16.

The UAE government has officially declared Monday, June 15, 2026, a public holiday for federal entities, private sector employees, schools, universities, and early childhood centres to mark the Hijri New Year 1448.
