Indian expat in Dubai wins draw, becomes homeowner after 12 years as resident
An Indian expat in Dubai is the lucky winner of a brand new studio apartment after shopping at an Al Barsha hypermarket, as part of a citywide promotion, "Win Your Home in Dubai" – the third prize winner in the initiative.
The 12-year resident of Dubai, who works in the finance sector, was presented with ownership in front of hundreds of shoppers at a ceremony.
She told how her heart was “racing” when she found out she was now a homeowner. Aditi was shopping with husband and daughter, so entered the draw.
It's amazing to win something for the first time and get a home here in Dubai. This is the first time that such a thing has happened and it was beyond my imagination but apparently, it has now happened and we are really grateful for this Win Your Home in Dubai," she said.
The "Win Your Home in Dubai" campaign is jointly organized by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Chambers, inviting shoppers to enter a draw for the chance to win one of 12 residential units developed across the city by Binghatti Developers.
More winners to be announced
Scheduled every Wednesday, upcoming weekly draws for the Dubai 1 Million Raffle take place on July 12, 19 and 26, as well as August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at Dubai Festival City Mall. Eight of the following draws will be for one studio apartment each, with a two-bedroom unit being awarded as the grand prize on August 30.

This initiative continues through August 30. All Dubai residents and visitors who are 18 years old or older can still enter by spending a minimum of Dh500 at any of the participating brands listed across more than 3,500 retail outlets in the emirate.
At participating retailers, shoppers simply validate their entry by scanning the QR code from micro site creations official campaign collateral littered about the local outlets; no minimum spend is required.
