Nearly 99% of Dubai residents feel safe walking at night, survey finds
Do you think twice when walking out at night in Dubai? Statistics say perhaps not.
A survey says almost 99 per cent of the residents of Dubai claim that they feel safe walking alone at night. This survey was done by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, UAE.
Dubai Police has released the results of a survey showing residents in the emirate feeling safe. Here are the results:
Security - quality of life index: 98.2%
Daytime safety perception index: 99.9%
Feeling of safety while walking at night: 98.7%
Public confidence in police stations: 96.2%
Residents have high confidence in authorities' competence across emirates.
Sharjah has also finished a similar poll that revealed 99.7 per cent of residents feel safe in the emirate by 2025, according to the Emirate's Police force.
Data was collected based on a survey conducted by the Department of Statistics and Community Development, which also stated that trust in law enforcement is at a relatively high level. Residents have about 99 per cent confidence in the police to keep peace and order throughout Sharjah.
