RAK's Marjan Beach to open first phase in 2 months; development to take 10 years
Marjan Beach, a major mixed-use waterfront district on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, is expected to be completed over the next 10 years, with work on its first phase nearing completion.
First Phase Earthwork to Finish Soon
Abdulla Al Abdouli, Group CEO of Marjan, said the first phase of earthwork at Marjan Beach is expected to be completed within the next two months.
Major developers including Wasl, Omniyat and Beyond have already secured plots and sites within the beach development.
Earthwork involves preparing land for construction by removing and moving materials such as soil.
One of Ras Al Khaimah’s Biggest Master Plans
Al Abdouli described Marjan Beach as one of the biggest master plans ever launched in the history of Ras Al Khaimah.
The development covers around 85 million square feet, including approximately 6.5 million square feet dedicated to green spaces and public areas.
The project is being developed as a long-term programme, with different phases planned over the next decade.
Marjan Launches Digital Universe
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market, where Marjan also introduced its new virtual platform, the Marjan Digital Universe.
The platform will allow potential investors to explore Marjan’s masterplans and developments virtually while interacting with the emirate’s evolving landscape.
Al Marjan Island Projects Remain on Track
Al Marjan Island, a 2.7-million-square-metre man-made archipelago consisting of four islands, continues to see major development.
The island will also be home to Wynn Al Marjan Island, which is set to become the region’s first integrated gaming resort. Its opening has been moved from March 2027 to September 2027.
Al Abdouli said infrastructure projects across Al Marjan Island remain on track, although some supply chain challenges have affected project deliveries.
Marjan Beach to Feature Homes, Hotels and Lifestyle Experiences
Marjan Beach is expected to become one of Ras Al Khaimah’s key coastal destinations, featuring premium residential communities, hospitality projects, cultural attractions and lifestyle experiences.
Around 60 per cent of the masterplan will be allocated to residential development, with a mix of commercial and residential precincts.
The development will include exclusive waterfront communities as well as family-oriented neighbourhoods, creating a diverse coastal destination for residents and visitors.
