Saudi Arabia's New Package Visa: The All-in-One Way to Visit the Kingdom

Saudi Arabia has just launched a new all-in-one travel visa, and it's already being described as one of the most convenient entry options the Kingdom has introduced yet. Announced on July 7, 2026, the Package Visa bundles a tourist visa, flights, and hotel accommodation into a single booking, cutting out much of the paperwork and back-and-forth that usually comes with planning international travel.

What the Package Visa actually is

The Package Visa is a new pilot program that allows eligible travellers to obtain a tourist visa as part of an integrated travel package, combining round-trip flights, stays at licensed hospitality facilities, and the electronic visa application into one booking through an approved travel and tourism service provider. Visitors can also add extras like event tickets, local activities, and tourism experiences to the same booking, creating a complete itinerary in a single transaction rather than juggling separate platforms for flights, hotels, and entry permits.

Cost, timing, and eligible markets

The catch: no cancellations

There's one important restriction to know before booking. Once a Package Visa is issued, the travel package cannot be canceled. If the associated travel package is canceled for any reason, the visa is automatically canceled along with it. This makes the Package Visa best suited to travellers who are certain of their plans, rather than those who want the flexibility to adjust dates or change their minds later.

Why Saudi Arabia is rolling this out now

The launch is part of the Kingdom's broader tourism strategy under Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the Saudi economy away from oil by growing tourism into one of its leading economic sectors. Saudi Arabia welcomed more than 29 million international visitors in 2025, generating SAR 176.6 billion in inbound tourism spending, with total tourism spending reaching a record SAR 304 billion and contributing 4.9 percent of GDP. Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb described the Package Visa as the next step in that strategy, aimed at empowering travel and tourism partners and creating a smarter, more seamless way for visitors to experience the Kingdom. The initiative builds on previous entry reforms, including the tourist e-Visa, Visa on Arrival, and the Stopover Transit Visa, all of which contributed to the country's rapid tourism growth in recent years.

A separate initiative worth knowing about

The Package Visa should not be confused with a separate, unrelated project still in development: a proposed unified tourist visa across all six Gulf Cooperation Council states — Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain — modeled on Europe's Schengen system. That regional visa would allow a single application to grant multi-entry access across all six countries. Saudi Arabia's tourism minister has indicated it could launch in 2026 or 2027, but it remains a distinct, larger-scale project from the Package Visa, which is specific to travel into Saudi Arabia alone.

For eligible travellers in the pilot markets, the Package Visa offers a genuinely simplified path into Saudi Arabia — fewer steps, no separate embassy visit, and a visa turnaround measured in hours rather than days. The tradeoff is flexibility: because the package and visa are locked together, travellers should be confident in their travel dates and plans before booking, since changes or cancellations aren't part of the deal.
