Sharjah Police arrest man accused of killing two Kazakh sisters

Sharjah Police have arrested a Kazakh national suspected of killing two sisters of the same nationality inside a residential apartment. Police said an intensive investigation helped identify and locate the suspect within a short period.

The sisters, aged 20 and 22, had been living and working in the UAE for less than a year. Their deaths were confirmed by Sharjah Police after relatives reported them missing.

Sisters Arrived in UAE in December 2025

According to Kazakh media reports cited in an earlier report, the sisters arrived in Dubai in December 2025 to work at a beauty salon and later lived in Sharjah.

They were reportedly planning to return to Kazakhstan to visit their families in early September.

Their relatives lost contact with them around August 17. After several days without receiving calls or messages, the family contacted the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai.

A missing-person report was subsequently filed with Sharjah Police, leading authorities to search for the sisters and eventually find them in their apartment.

Bodies Repatriated to Kazakhstan

The sisters' bodies were repatriated to Kazakhstan on August 28, with Sharjah Police coordinating with Kazakh authorities to support the process.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the deaths and said its Consulate General in Dubai was providing the family with consular and legal assistance.

Suspect Identified Through Intensive Investigation

Sharjah Police said teams from the General Department of Criminal Security and Ports immediately launched an investigation after receiving a report of a suspected crime inside a residential apartment.

Investigators examined the scene, collected evidence and information, and analyzed available data. Police also used modern technologies to analyze and cross-reference the information gathered during the investigation.

These efforts helped authorities establish the circumstances surrounding the case, identify the suspect and determine his location, resulting in his arrest.

Police Say Suspect Knew the Sisters

Brigadier Dr Khalifa Al Balhaj, Director of the Criminal Investigations and Investigations Directorate at Sharjah Police, said the investigation established that the sisters personally knew the suspect.

According to police, disputes between the sisters and the suspect eventually led to the crime.

Al Balhaj credited the rapid response, coordination between security teams and detailed field procedures for helping investigators resolve the case and arrest the suspect.

Suspect Confesses to Crime

Police said the suspect confessed to committing the crime after being confronted with the evidence and findings collected during the investigation.

Legal procedures have been initiated against him, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

Sharjah Police Praise Investigation Teams

Lieutenant General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, praised the criminal investigations teams for their efficiency, swift response and professionalism in handling the case.

He said the quick resolution demonstrated Sharjah Police’s advanced readiness, field capabilities and ability to respond effectively to different security challenges.

Police Urge Public to Follow Official Information

The case previously attracted public attention after a missing-person poster circulated on WhatsApp, claiming that the sisters had stopped responding to calls and messages and had deleted their social media accounts.

The poster also contained claims about a Russian-speaking Kazakh man who allegedly provided the sisters with accommodation.

Sharjah Police have urged the public to rely on official sources and verified information regarding the case as legal proceedings continue.
