Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park
Dubai solar park the key to UAE renewable effort The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai is the cornerstone of the UAE's renewable energy ambitions. Implemented by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the project has a planned generating capacity of 5,000 megawatts (MW) by 2030, making it one of the largest single-site solar parks in the world. The facility features photovoltaic (PV) solar panels as well as concentrated solar power (CSP) technology, and helps provide clean electricity to hundreds of thousands of homes.
Supporting the UAE's Net Zero Goals
A key component of the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative, this solar park is intended to help eliminate carbon emissions whilst securing energy sources in a sustainable manner. The project also supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims for 100% clean energy generation capacity by 2050.
