UAE flag flies on Everest summit as Dubai-based teen becomes youngest Brit to conquer peak

Dubai: A remarkable achievement has put both Dubai and the UAE in the spotlight after a Dubai-based teenager became the youngest British climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain.

Historic Everest Achievement

Gabriel Middleton, aged just 17 years, one month, and 28 days, successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest at 9:20am on May 27. To mark the milestone, he proudly unfurled the UAE flag at the peak of the Himalayan mountain.

Gabriel was guided by his father, Ant Middleton, a former Royal Marine and television personality, who had previously conquered Everest eight years ago.

Overcoming Challenges

Reflecting on the experience, Gabriel described the climb as both physically and mentally demanding.

"It was as if the pain just vanished and turned into instant joy once the task was complete," he said.

He added that watching his father lead by example inspired him to believe that even the toughest challenges can be overcome.

A Proud Family Moment

Ant Middleton expressed immense pride in his son's accomplishment and dedicated the achievement to the UAE.

The entire Middleton family trekked to Everest Base Camp together.
Ant later continued the ascent with Gabriel while his wife and younger children returned.
The pair carried the UAE flag throughout their journey.
The flag was planted at the summit as a symbol of gratitude, unity, and strength.

Ant thanked the UAE for providing his family with safety and stability, allowing him and Gabriel to focus on their Everest mission.

Known for his role in the television series SAS: Who Dares Wins, Ant emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset during difficult times.

He encouraged UAE residents to face challenges with confidence, saying:
