UAE makes history as first passenger train arrives in Abu Dhabi
The arrival of the first passenger train in Abu Dhabi as part of a historic milestone for the nation makes October a month where history is shaped, marking another era in public transport for the UAE. First train of the Etihad passenger service in Fujairah around 5:34 am, then mapping it to arrive at Abu Dhabi by 7:19 am, covering over one hour and forty-five minutes.
Cheers, clapping and celebrations were heard while crowds massed at the station to greet the first travellers. Traditional Emirati performances, festive decorations such as balloons, giveaways and complimentary refreshments; and several photo booths where those present could take selfies contributed to the joyous occasion ensuring it was a day filled with wonderful memories for everyone.

Etihad Rail stressed from the onset that the overall passenger experience is more than just the train journey itself highlighted by a key focus on seamless first and last mile connectivity.

It was also confirmed by officials that the future Dubai station due to launch in September will be located within very close proximity to a Dubai Metro station for easy connections.
Passengers Celebrate a Landmark Journey
Greeny was seated next to her family on board the first ferry from Fujairah to Abu Dhabi, which also made stops along the route in Sharjah and Dubai. The experience, she said, was seamless, cozy and fun — and praised the onboard hospitality, food and service.
