UAE weather: Fog alert issued; Abu Dhabi, Sharjah temperatures to hit 45ºC

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast generally fair weather across the UAE on Friday, June 19, with temperatures expected to rise significantly in several emirates. Residents should also be prepared for foggy conditions during the early morning hours and increased humidity overnight.


Fog Alert and Reduced Visibility


The NCM issued red and yellow fog alerts until 9:00 AM on Friday, warning motorists of reduced visibility in some areas.


Important Safety Updates:

 

  • Dense fog and mist expected in parts of the UAE during the morning.

  • Humid conditions likely by night and Saturday morning, especially in western coastal regions.

  • Motorists are advised to drive carefully and follow traffic instructions.


Abu Dhabi Police Advisory


Due to reduced visibility caused by fog, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to remain cautious on the roads and follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.


Traffic Update:


Speed reduction system activated to 80 km/h on Sheikh Salama Bint Butti Road (Zayed City – Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road).

Temperatures are expected to remain high across the country, with some cities reaching up to 45°C.

Abu Dhabi: 45°C
Sharjah: 45°C
Dubai: 43°C


Expected Minimum Temperatures:


Abu Dhabi: 30°C
Dubai: 30°C
Sharjah: 30°C
