UAE weather: Temperatures to reach 42ºC in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah

A thick blanket of fog covered large parts of Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning, causing reduced visibility across several roads and prompting weather warnings from the UAE's National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The fog extended across wide areas of the capital, while scattered patches were also reported in parts of Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Motorists were advised to drive carefully and follow reduced speed limits as visibility dropped significantly in some locations. The NCM's fog alert remained active until 9:00 AM, highlighting potentially hazardous driving conditions during the early morning hours.

According to the NCM, the UAE is currently influenced by a weak surface pressure system combined with an upper-air high-pressure extension. As a result, weather conditions across the country are expected to remain generally fair, with partly cloudy skies developing at times over eastern regions.

Humidity levels are likely to increase again overnight and into Monday morning, especially in coastal areas, creating favorable conditions for mist or fog formation. Winds will remain light to moderate, while sea conditions are expected to stay calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
