Flights To UAE, Kuwait Affected, Bahrain Closes Airspace After Iran Launches Attack

There are also reports of flights over parts of the Middle East being disrupted after Iran's missile strikes on bases in Kuwait and Bahrain led to precautionary measures there.

Reports have shown that Bahrain closed its airspace and that airline services in the UAE and Kuwait were impacted as tensions mounted across the region.

The US military said on Wednesday morning that Iranian missiles launched at Kuwait and Bahrain missed or were intercepted, and the U.S. launched retaliatory strikes targeting an Iraqi Iran facility. Central Command in Washington, D.C. said the strikes were targeted at an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz which contains a desalination plant.

Iran has reportedly ceased communications with mediators over how long such a ceasefire would last, with the latest attack coming but now months after Iran were said to go for further talks. An assertion purportedly made by US President Donald Trump, however, dismissed such a claim and said that negotiations are still ongoing, PTI quoted.

In the wake of the assault, planes are being emptied or remaining in the upper airspace over the Persian Gulf incorporating Dubai and UAE

This comes on the back of several airlines cancelling flights to and from different areas of the Middle East including going in and out of Dubai due to regional tensions.
