Sri Lanka announces free tourist ETA for nationals of UAE, India, Pakistan, 37 countries
Free Tourist Visa for Nationals of 40 Countries, Sri Lanka is issuing Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) which provides free visa. This scheme provides for the nationals of India, UAE, Pakistan and others and is effective from May 25. As per the official ETA website of Sri Lanka, this will be applicable for those with diplomatic, official, service and ordinary passports.

Citizens of these 40 states, and nationals of Maldives, Seychelles and Singapore who have bilateral capacity to counterbalance concurrences with Sri Lanka, should gain the ETA preceding appearances.
The ETA will be free as of 25 May, however any fees paid by these nationals prior to that date are non-reimbursable.
Duration and Visa Extension Rules
For nationals of these 40 countries, the visa-free remains valid for a stay of government-1 months. With the new scheme, tourists will be allowed double entry at any time during the 30-day validity period starting from the date of first arrival in Sri Lanka.

Separate application for extended stays
A visa extension must be applied for by an applicant who holds a free ETA and seeks to stay longer than 30 days. This will require the payment of relevant visa fees.
However, as per the official website of Sri Lanka, ETAs will now issue a 90-day tourist visa free to Maldivian nationals which replaces the agreement between two nations.
